Dear Americans,

The U.S. media has been neglecting to share the complete story of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the opportunity the United States has to recognize Palestine as an independent state. As a result, some CNN staffers have come out and called the current Israel-Hamas War coverage as “journalism malpractice.”  Therefore, we listed some facts you might not know:

The old city of Jerusalem with the golden dome of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on a sunny day in Palestine.

Did you know…

●     Hamas may have started the most recent battle on October 7th, but the war really began around 76 years ago? A couple months before Israel declared itself a state, Pre-Israeli paramilitary groups conducted terrorist attacks on the Palestinians? They destroyed hundreds of Palestinians villages, killed around 15,000 people, and expelled or drove out about half of the Palestinian population (approximately 700,000 people).

●     The Palestinians have been under military occupation or a blockade for the past 56 years?

●     The platform of Israel’s Likud Party (Benjamin Netanyahu’s party) generally declares that a Palestinian state will never exist? It says, “between the Sea and the Jordan (River) there will only be Israeli sovereignty.

●     In 2017, Hamas updated their original policy from obliterating Israel to a willingness to accept a Palestinian State that includes East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. In fact, they offered Israel a 5-year ceasefire in exchange for this state.

●     That 72% of the world’s nations already recognize Palestine as a state? In fact, Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, and Malta have announced they will recognize Palestine soon.

Recognize Palestine – Introduction

Since you heard the government of Israel’s side many times, we will share information from the Palestinian side. Although, the content will criticize the government of Israel, it will not criticize the citizens of Israel and won’t question Israel’s existence.

This site will fill you in with easily verifiable facts in the form of bullet points. Any opinions after the homepage will be noted in italics to separate it from the facts. It is recommended that you proceed through each tab in sequence. If you find the information overwhelming, simply read just the highlighted text in the body of each page.

The first page, Imposition, provides a brief history of the creation of Israel. Nakba, Occupation, and Gaza discuss phases of ethnic cleansing. Subsequently, Support covers the ways in which the U.S. supports the government of Israel. Sharing and Statehood then discuss the willingness to share Palestine and a path to statehood. Finally, Myths and About complete the website.

To be clear, the purpose of this website is to inform you about the whole story. You don’t have to pick a side. You can support a two-state solution: Palestine and Israel. In reality, a “friend” of Israel would also support Palestine, as it helps Israel achieve long term peace and security. When the Bible says, “God blesses those who bless Israel,” does that mean support the government of Israel no matter what they do?

Sincerely,

Recognize Palestine
